NOTE: The candidates admitted on NRI seats or on tuition fee waiver ACPC seats will notbe eligible for availing any kind of scholarships or financial assistance.

 

Merit cum Means Half Tuition Fee Waiver:

  • The scheme is applicable to Diploma to Degree B. Tech. students securing admission in the third semester of the current Academic Year, with effect from their fourth semester.
  • The total Annual Income (from all Sources) of the student’s family should not be exceeding Rs. 8.00 Lacs.
  • A student seeking such scholarship will have to apply after the announcement of result of end sem. exam of the third semester in a prescribed form, provided he/she secures minimum 6.5 CPI thereat. Authentic information e.g. family income, etc. shall have to be furnished by the student in the application. The list of the students offerable the scholarship for the fourth semester will be on merit based (common for all batches) on CPI obtained at the end sem. exam. of the third semester. The continuation of the scholarship in subsequent semesters shall subject to minimum 6.5 CPI in the end sem. exam. of the previous semester, besides fulfillment of other norms e.g. regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour.
  • The student must not be getting any other financial assistance e.g. fellowship / freeship / scholarship from any other source.

 

The University offers financial assistance as per its availability from its own resources as Scholarship as follows:

  • For candidates having qualified and valid GATE score admitted in Phase I only: Rs. 12,400/- p.m.
  • For candidates admitted under Phase-II Non-GATE category admission process: Rs. 8000/- p.m., subject to the conditions that
    • The number of such candidates-beneficiaries will be limited to the no. of GATE category seats in respective branch if remain unfilled.
    • The selection of candidates the scholarships will be as per the admission-merit, and further such candidates should have secured minimum 50% score overall for the parameters considered for the admission merit.
  • Other Conditions
    • To become eligible for the continuance of any one of above mentioned financial assistance, the respective candidate is required 1. To have earned Minimum CPI of 6.5 in every semesters. 2. To have passed every semester examinations at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behavior and compliance with other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time.
    • The grant of the scholarship is subject to the condition that the candidate does not receive any financial assistance in shape of scholarship/any emoluments, salary, stipend etc. from any other source during his/her course of study in the University.
    • No scholarship will be given to the candidates who pass the GATE examination after securing the admission.
    • The Scholarship will be granted to the candidate on a monthly basis subject to the satisfactory academic performance and adherence to the University/Institute norms/rules and regulations as applicable from time to time, certified by the Head of the Deptt./School Director/Dean and obligatory work as mentioned.
    • Foreign candidates and sponsored candidates are not eligible for the Scholarship.
    • The candidate shall be required to give an undertaking to the effect that he / she would not leave the programme midway. In case any candidate leaves the course in midway he/she will be required to refund the total scholarship drawn so far, at the time of leaving the programme.
    • The Scholarship may be discontinued at any time for any kind of misconduct by the candidate, like involving in the act of ragging, misbehavior etc.

 

It will be obligatory on the part of every post graduate candidate to undertake 8 to 10 hours (per week) of work related to academic & co-academic and research activities as assigned to him/her from time to time. This include tutorials, laboratory classes, development and maintenance of laboratories, assistance in research and activities undertaken by faculty members, maintenance and operation of computer and other central facilities, assistance in library, examinations etc.  

 

Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (50% Tuition Fee waiver) available as per PDEU scholarship policy for School of Petroleum Management

Maximum 10 Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (50% Tuition Fee waiver) are available as per PDEU scholarship policy for School of Petroleum Management. The policy stipulates that family income (from all sources) of the candidate, in previous financial year should not exceed INR 10 Lakhs. Also to be considered for scholarship process, the candidate should have scored a minimum 85 percentile in CAT/XAT/NMAT applicable for admissions for the session 2022-23. Other details shall be shared with candidates during the admission process.

 

Research based Assistantship of Rs. 25,000/- per semester will be given to all enrolled students for the first year (1st & 2nd semester), and will be paid at the end of the respective semester. The student has to maintain CPI of 6.5 or above throughout the first year to be eligible for the research assistantship.

 

  • There are two Scholarship Schemes applicable for the M.A students securing admission in Academic Year 2020 (A student is entitled to avail any one scholarship schemes based on the eligibility criteria and prevailing norms).
    • The In-house Scholarship Scheme for the graduate students from PDPU.
    • The Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme for graduates from other institutions.
  • In-house Scholarship Scheme:
  • To have earned Minimum SPI of 7.5 in Second Semester (PG), and also of 7.5 SPI in every subsequent semester.
  • To have passed every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time.
  • The scholarship entails a waiver of 50% of tuition fee and 50% waiver of Hostel accommodation rent for scholarship holders on semester performance basis.
  • Hostel accommodation rent waiver will be applicable to the outstation students only.
  • In case of a tie between two students the amount of scholarship will be equally divided.
  • The students availing the benefit of scholarship are required to work as Teaching Assistant for 10 hours per week with the Department/Faculties during the period of scholarship.
  • To continue availing the scholarship scheme in second and onward semesters’ the student has to apply along with the result of the previous semester in a prescribed form wherein authentic and relevant information shall have to be furnished.
  • Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme: The basic eligibility criteria is the Total Annual Income (from all Sources) of the student’s family should not be exceeding Rs. 10.00 Lacs.
  • Two meritorious students from each stream/subject of MA are eligible for this scholarship per semester.
  • Eligibility criteria for the award Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme in First Semester: Fifty (50%) of the marks secured in graduation examination and Fifty (50 %) of the marks obtained in MA Admission entrance examination (Online) subject to overall minimum 65% marks will be considered for the scholarship in the first semester.
  • Eligibility criteria for the award of merit cum means scholarship scheme from the second semester onwards: To become eligible for the continuance of the scholarship in subsequent semesters, the students are require to have earned Minimum SPI of 7.5 in the 1st Semester, and also of 7.5 SPI in every subsequent semester.
  • To have passed every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time.
  • There would be a waiver of 50% of tuition fee and 50% waiver of Hostel accommodation rent for scholarship holders till the continuation of such scholarship.
  • Hostel accommodation rent waiver will be applicable to the outstation students only.

  • The University offers financial assistance from its own resources as per its availability in the name of fellowship, who would qualify as per the norms specified below on merit basis as follows:

    Up to first two years: Rs.25,000/- per month as research fellowship
    In the third year: Rs.30,000/- per month as research fellowship

    Continuance of the fellowship shall subject to punctuality, discipline, good academic/research progress review & recommendation of the doctoral committee & compliance to other norms as prescribed by the University from time to time.
    By the end of every semester the Doctoral Committee will also review & recommend on continuance of the fellowship to the respective students.

    After third year, the fellowship may continue subject to the semester wise review scrutiny by the Doctoral Committee, but not beyond the fourth year.

    It shall be mandatory to perform the duties as Teaching Assistant for all the full time candidates availing the fellowship.

    M.E./ M.Tech. GATE qualified candidates admitted to pursue Ph. D. on full time basis in the research areas of Engg. & Technology may be granted the fellowships as mentioned above on merit basis.

    M.Sc. (Tech.) in GeoScience (3 year full time) qualified candidates having GATE/NET/SLET/CSIR score admitted to pursue Ph. D. on full time basis in the research areas of Engg. & Technology may be granted the fellowships as mentioned on merit basis.

    The candidates admitted to pursue Ph.D. on full time basis in the research areas of Management may be granted the fellowships as mentioned above on merit basis provided they have valid CAT score with a minimum of 60 percentile at the time of the admission tests.

    The candidates admitted to pursue Ph. D. on full time basis in the research areas of Sciences and areas under School of Liberal Studies may be granted the fellowships as mentioned above on merit basis provided they have a valid UGC NET/CSIR-UGC NET/SLET score at the time of the admission tests.

    No other Financial Assistance/Aid will be given to all such students.

    The continuance of the Research fellowship shall be subjected to the six monthly academic review, discipline and punctuality of the candidate.

    The above policy-procedure is subject to modification whenever found necessary by the University.

  • A financial assistance in the form of a Teaching Assistance ship on merit basis is also available for the students who would not be receiving above referred financial assistance: Rs.10,000/- per month

    It may be continued up to 3 years on satisfactory performance based on overall review from semester to semester. During these 03 years such students may be given financial incentive of Rs. 2,000/- per publication in approved peer reviewed journals.

    Contingency allowance of maximum Rs. 10,000/- per year as per the norms.

    No other Financial Assistance/Aid will be given to all such students.

    The continuance of the financial assistance shall be subjected to the six monthly academic review & recommendation of the doctoral committee, discipline and punctuality of the candidate.

    Other Conditions:
    • The Research Fellow will have to assist the University/School/Department in its academic work, including tutorials, assignments, laboratory demonstration, supervision of fieldwork, library activities, group seminars, workshops, symposia from time to time. The total time to be spent on such activities will be around ten hours a week.
    • The grant of the fellowship is subject to the condition that the student does not receive any financial assistance in shape of scholarship/any emoluments, salary, stipend etc. from any other source during his/her course of study in the Institute.
    • Foreign students and sponsored candidates are not eligible for the fellowship.
    • It will be obligatory on the part of every full time Ph. D. student to undertake 8 to 10 hours (per week) of work related to academic & co-academic and research activities as assigned to him/her from time to time. This include tutorials, laboratory classes, development and maintenance of laboratories, assistance in research and activities undertaken by faculty members, maintenance and operation of computer and other central facilities, assistance in library, examinations etc.
    • The fellowship will be granted to the student on a monthly basis subject to the satisfactory academic performance and adherence to the University/Institute norms/rules and regulations as applicable time to time, certified by the Supervisor, HoD, Dean, School Director and obligatory work as assigned.
    • The student shall be required to give an undertaking to the effect that he / she would not leave the programme midway. In case any student leaves the course in midway he/she will be required to refund the total amount of the financial assistance drawn so far, at the time of leaving the programme.

     

    Cancellation of Financial Assistance:

    The financial assistance is liable to cancellation, in case of Misconduct/indiscipline/unsatisfactory progress of research work/failure in any examination related to Ph.D.; or he/she is found ineligible later.
