COURSE CONTENT OF ZERO CREDIT BRIDGE COURSE FOR M TECH (Petroleum Engg.)

  1. Geoscience: Earth System; Rock Cycle, Sedimentation, Stratigraphy; Structural Geology; Plate Tectonics; Sedimentary Basin; Exploration; origin, migration, and accumulation of petroleum; Geological structure related to oil and gas bearing formations (Total 12 hours)
  2. Drilling: Basics of rotary drilling, drilling fluids, Cementation and Casing & wellhead, Directional and horizontal drilling (Total 10 hours).
  3. Production: Well completion perforation, Workover, stimulation, Artificial lift, Separation treatment and processing of oil and gas, storage of oil and gas, CNG, LNG, LPG, Transportation. (Total 12 hours).
  4. Reservoir Engineering: Reservoir fluids, Petrophysics (porosity, permeability, saturation, wettability etc.), Reserve estimation along with some exercises, Reservoir drives, Logging. (Total 16 hours).
