Dr. Bhui has both academic experience as well as industrial expertise. His expertise was in geological mapping and geochemical data (phase, bulk chemical and stable isotope) handling for magmatic rocks and associated economic mineral deposits particularly chromium, vanadium, nickel and platinum group of elements. He is also actively associated with research activities for projects funded by different national and international agencies and also associated as supervisor for Ph. D. students.

Dr. Bhui has working experience in various activities related to petroleum exploration and exploitation in ONGCL. As a Reservoir Engineer (AEE-reservoir) in ONGCL he was involved in reservoir operation and management activities for field development and workover jobs related to optimum oil production. Presently he is exploring the following research areas to meet the futuristic need of upstream petroleum sector:
• Clay mineralogy and low temperature geochemistry
• Petroleum system and basin modeling
• Reservoir modeling

Specialization:
• Petrology & geochemistry
• Petroleum geology
• Reservoir engineering

Research Projects Supervised:
Title: Petrogenesis of the Archaean Anorthosite-Chromitite complex of Sittampundi, Southern Granulite Terrain (SGT), India, Funding authority: Jadavpur University.
Title: Lithology and tectono-metamorphic evolution of a Precambrian terrane boundary in southern India: the Bhavani shear zone. Funding authority: DST(India)-DAAD(Germany).
Title: Tectonothermal evolution of the granulite-amphibolite facies rocks along the Namakkal-Alambadi corridor across the Palghat-Cauvery suture zone and its significanceto Indo-Antarctic-Madagascar connection. Funding authority: DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
