Dr. T. P. Singh being associated as a Mathematics
faculty with the Engineering & Technology institutes
for the last twenty years has a special liking for Applied
Mathematics and Engineering Mathematics.
Reversible Logic Gates has emerged as a promising technology
having its application in low power CMOS (Complementary
Metal-Oxide Semiconductor), quantum computing, nanotechnology
and optical computing. Dr. Singh is working on Group
theoretical aspects (Discrete Mathematics) of reversible
logic gates. They are a building block for constructing
arbitrary reversible Boolean networks and therefore
are the key to reversible digital computers. Such Computers
can operate without heat production.
Dr. Singh is also working on the applications of lattice
theory to solve problems pertaining to distributed systems.
Currently, Dr. Singh is working on Mathematical Modeling
of Oil Slick Growth and Oil Spill. In the majority of
cases, a mathematical model is the only available tool
for a rapid computation of the spilled oil fate, and
for simulation of the various cleanup operations. Either
difference equation or differential equation based mathematical
models can be used to find the size of a growing oil
slick.
