Dr. Shriram D. Paranjape did his M.Sc.(Physics) from IIT Kanpur (1970) and Ph. D. from the University of Bombay (1989). He joined the BARC Training School in 1970 and then the Theoretical Physics Division of BARC in 1971 as a Scientific Officer. His areas of research have been Nuclear Reactor Physics, Neutron Diffusion and Transport and Charged Particle Transport, Numerical Methods and related Computer Code development in the field of nuclear energy. He has several publications in international journals and BARC reports to his credit. He has also served as the Member-Secretary of the National Board for Higher Mathematics, Department of Atomic Energy. DR. Shriram D. Paranjape retired from BARC in 2008.
During his long research and academic career he has taught numerous courses on Nuclear Reactor Physics and Numerical Methods at the postgraduate level at DAE Training schools at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai; Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam; Madras Atomic Power Station, Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, Tarapur Atomic Power Station ; and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
He has been working as Professor, School of Nuclear Energy, PDPU since July 2010. |
