He has worked on an operation and control of inverter interconnected microgrids during his Ph.D program at IIT Bombay. Microgrids are small entities where sources and loads are connected in the same geographical area. Sources are of small rating and generally they are renewable energy sources connected to ac microgrid through inverters. He has studies the microgrid configuration for isolated application and analyzed issues related to the induction motor operation in such microgrids. He proposed a method to predict the safe starting of induction motor in inverter connected microgrids. His master’s degree is in power system form Electrical Engineering Department, Government College of Engineering Pune. His topic of dissertation was “Design of axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator for direct-driven variable speed wind mills”. Average power output of direct driven wind turbines are greater than fixed speed wind turbines particularly for medium and low wind speed sites. Permanent magnet synchronous generators are most suitable generators for such turbines. He designed axial flux generator for direct driven wind turbine. He is working in School of Solar Energy, PDPU, since July 2009.
Research Interest:
