Dr. Jitendra Sangwai is working as Assistant Professor in the School of Petroleum Technology (SPT). He joined the institute in April 2009. He holds M.Tech and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Kanpur in the year 2001 and 2007, respectively. He has total 4+ years of experience, out of which, about 2 years were in academics, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and 2 and half years in Industry working as Research Engineer with Prochem and Schlumberger. Prior to his joining the SPT, he was working as a Research Engineer and Project Engineer with Schlumberger at Mumbai and Doha (Qatar), respectively. During the tenure with Schlumberger, he had an opportunity to work for different esteemed clients in petroleum industry, such as, ONGC, Qatar Petroleum, RasGas, QatarGas, etc. He was also a member on the Board of Examiners of several universities such as Pune University, Shivaji University, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune during 2001 and 2003. He had several government scholarships during his academic career including MHRD scholarships in M.Tech. and Ph.D. studies. His area of research interest includes crude oil emulsions and rheology, reservoir fluids, enhanced oil recovery, biomass, polymer science and engineering. He has four international publications, one published research report and several conference presentations to his credit.
