Dr. Sircar completed his B.Sc. in Geo. Science and M.Sc. in Exploration Geophysics from IIT Kharagpur. He did his M.Tech in Petroleum Exploration and Ph.D. in Reservoir Tomography from ISM Dhanbad. He received gold medal from ISM Dhanbad for topping the list in M. Tech. Additionally he posses PG Diploma in Business Administration from Annamalai University.

He has immense experience in both field and in academics. Initially he started his career as a Research Fellow at ISM Dhanbad and then joined IIT Kharagpur as a Research Associate. During his short stay in IIT he was engaged in research and undergraduate teaching. After that he joined L&T Oil & Gas (E&P) and worked there for around 2 years as an Executive. He then worked for Tullow India Operations Ltd and Prize Petroleum Company Ltd (a JV company of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd) in the capacity of Geophysicist. After that he joined Jubilant Group (Oil & Gas) and worked there for about 7 years on senior position in exploration division.

During his professional career he played leading role in technical departments of the organizations that included Reservoir Modeling, Reservoir Simulation, Field Development, Seismic Interpretation, Probabilistic Resource/Reserve estimation etc. He is also having in depth knowledge of many petroleum related software packages such as Seiswork, Seisware 5.1, GES97, Geographix Discovery, Kingdom Suite 8.2, Petrel, @ RISK, Crystal Ball etc.

Additionally, he performed duty as Technical Asset Manager for Tripura, Australia, Mehsana and Ahmedabad cluster. During his service at Jubilant he was deputed at GSPC, Gandhinagar to work in KG Basin project for Interpretation of 3D seismic data. Dr. Sircar visited around 10 countries and represented his organizations in countries such as Canada, Oman, Poland, UK, France, Australia, Bahrin etc.

Dr. Sircar joined School of Petroleum Technology, PDPU in July 2010 as an Associate Professor. Currently he is undertaking course and project works of B.Tech and M.Tech students of Petroleum Engineering. He is also working as Coordinator of Office of Research & Sponsored Projects (ORSP) and Industrial Consultancy of the University.

Dr. Sircar has around 30 plus technical publications in reputed national and international journals. He also served many reputed institutes as Visiting Faculty and Trainer. His research interest includes Seismic Interpretation, Reservoir Characterization, Probabilistic Resource Analysis, Integrated Reservoir Management Field Development, Asset Management etc.
