Dr. Prashanta Chandra Panda is Associate Professor of Economics. Dr. Panda completed his M.A. from Hydearabad University, M.Phil from CSRD (Eco), J.N.U. and Ph.D. from Utkal University. He was awarded with JRF (UGC) scholarship in Economics. Before joining the PDPU, he served as Associate Professor in Economics in the School of Management in KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. He served there for more than six years. He taught Micro-Economics, Macro-Economics, Indian Economics, International Business, Public Finance, Debt Market Management there. He served there as Area Chaiperson in Economics and Professor-in –charge Students’ Affair. One of his major achievements has been the Local Organising Secretary for 92nd Annual Conference, 27-29 December, 2009. The Conference was inaugurated by Honourable Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and attended by 2000 delegates. Around 50 leading economists attended the conference.

Dr. Panda has rich administrative experience as well. Dr. Panda also served School and Mass Education Department, Governemnt of Orissa as Assistant Director (Planning) in Orissa Primary Education Programme Authority for a period of six and half years (between March 1998- September 2004 ) . Job profile includes academic (Research and Module Preparation), managerial and administrative functions. Preparation of Budget, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation of Activities, Training to functionaries on participatory and decentralized planning, Conduct surveys and analysis, disbursement of funds, recruitment of functionaries at District level, Policy Intervention and Administrative Reforms, sutanability plans were some of his responsibilities.

In his M.Phil. and Ph.D. he has worked extensively on development economies. He has more than fifteen publications. Under Dr. Panda’s guidance one Ph.D. scholar has already submitted his Ph.D. thesis.
