Dr Rupakjyoti Borah is a Doctorate from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU), New Delhi. He was a Visiting Fellow at the Centre of International Studies, University of Cambridge, U.K. in 2009. He was also an Australian Studies Fellow (2005) and has researched at the University of Western Australia, Curtin University of Technology, Perth, University of Queensland, Brisbane ,Australian National University , Canberra, University of Sydney , University of New South Wales , La Trobe University and Monash University.

He has presented papers at international conferences in New Zealand, Australia and Portugal besides many other international conferences in India. His articles have been published in journals, books, magazines and online journals both in India and abroad. He has also been interviewed on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).
