Mr.
N. Sundaram
Registrar (PDPU)
Born on 5th February, 1948 in a small hamlet
called Koottathuppatty in Salem District of Tamil
Nadu, Mr. N. Sundaram graduated from Madras University
in the year 1969. Initially he joined the technical
services of Indian Council of Agricultural Research,
New Delhi at Central Marine Fisheries Research
Institute, Mandapam Camp as a scientific staff.

He pursued his Masters Degree in Marine Biology from
Centre of Advanced Study in Marine Biology, Porto Novo,
Annamalai University in the year 1977.
Mr. N. Sundaram was a Member of the Combined Cadre
of Administrative Officers and Accounts Officers of
ICAR Institutes from 1979 to 1992. He held the position
of Joint Director (Admn. & Finance) in National
Book Trust, India at New Delhi during 1992-93. He was
holding the positions of Deputy Registrar and Joint
Registrar in Indira Gandhi National Open University,
New Delhi from 1993 to 2003. He was the First Registrar
of National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and
Research, Mohali, Punjab during 1999-2001. He was also
the First Registrar of Tamil Nadu Open University, Chennai
during 2003-2004. Immediately before joining Pandit
Deendayal Petroleum University on 21st January, 2009,
Mr. N. Sundaram was holding the position of Registrar,
Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi established by one
of the great visionaries of India, Mahamana Pandit Madan
Mohan Malavia.
During his career spread over 39 years, he held additional
charge as Controller of Examinations and Director (Material
Production and Distribution). Besides he was functioning
as Chief Vigilance Officer and Liaison Officer for SCs/STs.
As a Marine Biologist he has a few original research
contributions in the field of marine fisheries &
marine aquaculture to his credit besides a few articles
and two reference books on administrative matters.
Experience of Mr. N. Sundaram in administration of
research and educational institutions of higher learning
in the country spreads over a period of 30 years as
on date. |
