INDIA US BILATERAL CONFERENCE ON SHALE GAS
PAPER CONTEST


 
 

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University in association with Mewbourne School of Petroleum & Geological Engineering, The University of Oklahoma, is organizing India – US Bilateral Conference on Shale Gas during 19th-20th March 2012 at New Delhi. The Conference invites undergraduate, post-graduate & doctoral students of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) across all the streams to participate in the India US Bilateral Conference on Shale Gas Paper Contest (“The Contest”) being held at New Delhi during the above conference. The contest is the perfect podium for budding and seasoned researchers alike, to present a technical paper on the theme of Shale Gas.  The Contest will evaluate the quest for innovative, technical and practical concepts of the various facets of the theme. In particular, the entries will be assessed for their insights into various perspectives of research, taking cognizance of the practicability of the proposals.

The Competition

First Phase
The participants will be required to submit an abstract (not more than 500 words) of the paper, based on which final entries will be shortlisted. The abstract should be submitted in online form only. All entries received will examined by Technical Jury of the India – US Bilateral Conference on Shale Gas consisting of faculty members of The University of Oklahoma, USA & Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, who specialize in different facets of Shale Gas Exploration & Exploitation. All the entries will get the feedback for their abstract.

Second Phase
The participants will be required to submit an Executive Summary (not more than 1200 words) of the paper, based on which final entries will be shortlisted. The Executive Summary should be submitted in online form only. Fifteen entries (maximum) will be selected to submit the full paper along with presentation. The Student authors whose entries are selected will present the contention of their paper in 20 minutes through a visual medial presentation system (like Power Point) to the Technical Jury.

Judging Criteria
The Jury will give judge the proposals for their originality, content, practicability and impact being made by the author.

For the Winners
The top three entries of the contest (after the presentation) will receive an invitation ( includes Conference Entry, One Night Stay at Delhi, Return Trip* to/from The University) to present the paper at India US Bilateral Conference on Shale Gas, New Delhi, India. In addition, there are two Consolation Prizes for the special entries chosen by the Jury.

* The Train Tickets of Three Tier AC (3-AC) Class of Shortest Route will be issued and given to the winner. Any other benefits like cash, reimbursement, etc will not be given in any circumstances.
