For The Father of the Nation……

UMANG-an educational initiative by PDPU students under Community Development Initiative organized Gandhi Jayanti Celebration with children studying in Govt. school of Raisan village. 70 children participated in card making workshop. In the workshop students of PDPU narrate a few interesting incidences of Gandhiji's life like how he stole gold bangles which belonged to his brother and his repentance on later stage etc. These incidences help the small and tender minds of the children to be framed in a positive manner. It helped the children to understand as well as realize the importance of honesty and hard work in life. The Satyagrah movement is a very important part of our history and it was taught to the children in the form of skit. They were also taught the significance of Charkha or the ‘retio’. The ideals of Gandhiji, The father of Nation and his love for his country was presented by the children in form of cards and posters. The day ended with smiles as children received gifts from the volunteers.
