Hostel girls of PDPU celebrated their First Hostel Day

Hostel girls of PDPU celebrated their First Hostel Day on 22nd January 2011. The day was clubbed with a guest lecture by Dr Pritam Pal on the topic : RELATIONSHIPS : A BALANCE BETWEEN PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE. The lecture was conducted as Girls' Welfare and Development Activity. Dr Pal is a staunch feminist and has devoted her life to the service of women, especially rural women. Her lecture was an eye opener for girls towards the numerous issues faced by women in India. The evening was graced by Director General PDPU and Mrs Asha Pandian. Registrar, Directors of Schools and staff members of PDPU also joined in and gave their blessings to the girls on this day. The event took place under the guidance and support of Dr Rita Banik, Coordinator, Girls' Welfare and Development , PDPU. The lectures were followed by a short cultural program by hostelites. Girls appreciated all the hostel wardens and helpers by presenting them with mementos. The Hostel Day became a grand success as it ended with a gesture of charity. Girls collected old clothes as donation to the needy and poor.
