School of Petroleum Technology an educational Institute,
functioning from August 2007, with a core focus on the
oil & gas sector and aligning its environment to
emerge as a Center of Excellence, offers Masters and
Doctoral programs in various areas of Oil & Gas
and newer Energy Sources.
The school offers a 2 year M.Tech Programme in Petroleum
Engineering. The candidate should have a B.Tech. degree
in Petroleum / Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical &
Electronics / Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of professional
experience in a relevant field.
The goals of the Doctoral Programmes at the School
of Petroleum Technology comprise the following: “The
development of the highest quality of scientific and
technical manpower to cater to the needs of Industry
and R & D Organisations based in energy sector”.
These programmes with their courses and specialized
research aim to prepare students for their professions
by enabling a perspective and breadth of knowledge related
to the principal divisions of their respective fields
of specialization.
The School is in the process of building state-of-art
facilities in the petroleum sector viz., reservoir engineering,
enhanced oil recovery, paleontology, petroleum geology,
plasma applications, as well as solar energy, new energy
sources, and application of nanotechnology in energy
devices.
The M.Tech Programme is Fully Residential Programme.
